Moving a mature tree is the hardest thing in landscape. Root balls have to be cut and wrapped months ahead of the lift. Transport windows are set by heat rather than by programme. Once the tree is in the ground the survival rate depends on irrigation being right at the first attempt, because a mature specimen that fails cannot be quietly replaced the way a shrub can.
